Vase - Home goods
A stunning diamond-shaped vase to compliment any bouquet of flowers. Brooklyn Made object.
Abigail had already been on her feet for close to five hours, but she didn’t mind it much. Unlike many, Abigail loved waitressing, especially in The Big Apple’s upper east side. It kept her busy, and she enjoyed meeting all of the different patrons. Not to mention, the food was free (and delicious)!
An older gentleman was just seated, and Abigail grabbed a menu and made her way over to him. He was extravagantly dressed; not in a flashy manner, but in a sleek and sophisticated one. Anyone could tell his suit was worth well over a thousand dollars.
Maybe Givenchy, or Giorgio Armani, Abigail thought to herself.
She introduced herself to the well-dressed patron. “Good afternoon, my name is Abigail. I'll be your server today, can I get you a beverage to start sir?”
She noticed The Great Gatsby on the table. It didn’t surprise her that he was a reader.
“A glass of Merlot, please.” Mr. Nice Suit replied.
“Right away.”
When Abigail returned, she handed him his glass of red wine and asked him about the book. “First time?”
He took a sip from the glass, “My third, actually. It’s a wonderful piece of literature. One of my favorites.”
“That it is, sir. Tragic endings usually have that effect, don’t they?” Abigail said, referring to Gatsby’s death.
“Absolutely.”
She went on to take Mr. Nice Suit’s order, and when she entered the kitchen her boss, Liam instructed her to take her half hour break after she waited on Mr. Nice Suit.
When she returned with his meal, they slipped back into a conversation about literature, this time discussing tragedy in greek mythology.
It was patrons like Mr. Nice Suit that made Abigail love her job; and although she was taken back that he hadn’t left a tip at the end of his meal, she appreciated the conversation nonetheless.
At the end of the night, Liam told Abigail a gift had arrived at the restaurant for her. She was confused, but delighted.
Who didn’t enjoy gifts?
As she went into the back room, she saw a marvelous bouquet of red roses in a stunning, diamond shaped, white vase. She was overwhelmed at the beauty of the ensemble. There was an envelope alongside it, with her name written in script. She decided to read the note on the flowers first.
It read: Abigail, thank you for the wonderful conversation with my meal. Please enjoy these roses as a token of gratitude. Until next time. P.S. you’ll find your tip in the envelope.”
At the bottom of the note, the sender signed it under ‘Gatsby,’ and she was overwhelmed with flattery and gratitude, remembering Mr. Nice Suit. She had never been treated so kindly by someone, and she hardly even knew him.
When she opened the envelope, she was stunned to find a $500 tip inside.
